HOLIDAY LIGHTING SEASON IS HERE IN OKLAHOMA

Christmas Light Installation Has Started, and Permanent Lighting Isn't Slowing Down

For The Light Hangers, October is where two seasons collide.

Today, October 5, we're officially beginning our Christmas light installation season across the Oklahoma City metro.

At the same time, permanent lighting isn't slowing down.

We currently have 14 TruLight permanent lighting installations on our schedule as homeowners prepare their homes for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the rest of the holiday season.

It's one of our favorite times of the year, but it's also the point when homeowners considering outdoor lighting should start making plans.

October may feel early for Christmas.

In the professional lighting world, it isn't.

OCTOBER MARKS THE BEGINNING OF CHRISTMAS LIGHT SEASON

Most homeowners don't start seriously thinking about Christmas lights until November.

Professional Christmas light installers have to start much earlier.

There are only so many installation days between the beginning of October and Thanksgiving, and every home requires time for design, preparation, installation, and testing.

That's why our Christmas season begins in October.

Starting early allows us to work through our existing customers while also taking on new Christmas lighting projects throughout Edmond, Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills, Norman, Moore, and surrounding communities.

The goal is simple: have our customers' homes ready to enjoy when the holiday season arrives.

PERMANENT LIGHTING IS CHANGING OUR FALL SEASON

Christmas lighting used to dominate nearly everything we did during the fall.

Permanent lighting has changed that.

This year, we're entering Christmas season with 14 TruLight permanent lighting projects already on our schedule.

Some homeowners want their systems completed before Halloween. Others are thinking ahead to Thanksgiving and Christmas. And many simply want permanent architectural lighting they can enjoy every night of the year.

That's one of the biggest differences between permanent lighting and traditional Christmas lights.

Christmas lighting has a season.

TruLight doesn't.

WHY HOMEOWNERS ARE INSTALLING TRULIGHT BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS

For many homeowners, Christmas is what initially gets them interested in permanent lighting.

The idea is simple.

Install the lighting once and never climb a ladder to hang Christmas lights again.

But once homeowners see what today's permanent lighting systems can actually do, Christmas often becomes only part of the reason they want it.

TruLight combines full RGB color with dedicated warm-white LEDs, allowing the same system to create colorful holiday displays and clean architectural lighting throughout the rest of the year.

You can use orange and purple for Halloween.

Warm fall colors for Thanksgiving.

Red, green and white for Christmas.

Team colors on game day.

Then return to warm white architectural lighting on an ordinary evening.

Everything stays installed and ready whenever you want to use it.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS OR PERMANENT LIGHTING?

October is also when we start getting this question more frequently.

Should I have professional Christmas lights installed again, or should I finally go permanent?

There's no single answer that's right for every homeowner.

Professional Christmas lighting is still an excellent choice for homeowners who love the traditional Christmas look and want us to handle the installation, maintenance, removal, and storage.

Permanent lighting is a different investment.

TruLight is designed to become part of the home. The system remains installed throughout the year and gives homeowners control over colors, patterns, zones, schedules, and everyday architectural lighting from an app.

If your primary goal is having a beautiful Christmas display this year, professional Christmas lighting may be the right choice.

If you've found yourself saying, "I don't want to deal with Christmas lights every year anymore," it's probably worth looking at permanent lighting.

WHY OCTOBER MATTERS

October is when the calendar starts becoming important.

Between now and Christmas, there are only so many workable installation days.

Weather changes.

Daylight gets shorter.

Existing Christmas customers need to be installed.

New Christmas projects are added.

Permanent lighting projects continue alongside them.

And every homeowner wants their lights completed before the date that matters to them.

That's why we encourage homeowners who are considering either service to start the conversation sooner rather than later.

That doesn't mean you can't call us in November.

It simply means that the earlier we talk, the more flexibility we'll typically have when planning your project.

TWO SERVICES. ONE GOAL.

Whether we're installing traditional Christmas lighting or a TruLight permanent lighting system, our goal is ultimately the same.

We want your home to look incredible.

The Light Hangers has been installing professional Christmas lighting for years, and that experience has carried directly into how we approach permanent lighting.

We pay attention to rooflines.

We center lighting around peaks and gables.

We plan transitions carefully.

We conceal wiring whenever possible.

And because we're an owner-operated company, we're directly involved in the work being completed on our customers' homes.

Permanent or seasonal, we want the finished installation to be something we're proud to put our name on.

THE HOLIDAY SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED

For most people, Christmas still feels a little ways away.

For us, it starts today.

Christmas installations are beginning, permanent lighting installations are continuing, and the next several weeks will be some of the busiest of our entire year.

If you're considering professional Christmas lighting for 2026, now is the time to start planning.

And if you've been considering TruLight permanent lighting and want your system installed before the holidays, we'd recommend starting that conversation now as well.

The Light Hangers provides professional Christmas light installation and authorized TruLight permanent lighting throughout Edmond, Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills, Norman, Moore, Piedmont, Yukon, Arcadia, and surrounding Oklahoma communities.
